T O P I C R E V I E WElysiaHi folks! [In case you want to skip the *blah* ramblings and cut to the chase about what questions are being thrown out there by this thread, I've put an asterisk and made them bold for you. ]Juno in mythology - daughter of Saturn, wife of Jupiter - is many things to many people. In Roman mythology, she is more of a military goddess and fertility goddess who protected her people. Imbued with the spirit of youthfulness and vigour. What I wonder is: *How did she come to be associated with the spouse archetype in astrology? Her major qualities seem to be, if not at odds with, but at least tangential to the symbolism of the spouse. (Well, apart from the fertility goddess thing - but that's not necessarily a spouse thing. ).Her Greek counterpart Hera, seems more suited to be symbolism of marriage, doesn't she? Well, she was after all, the goddess of women and marriage... *Thoughts on Hera?Lastly, *what have your personal experiences been, with both or either of these asteroids in your relationships (with spouses or near-spouses)? Synastry/transits/major events. FaithHi Elysia I am terrible with mythology. All I can tell you is, Juno has been pretty major in my life.My Juno @ 19 Virgo. For a long time I thought I was going to marry someone whose sun was there. My Juno is trine my husband's @ 21 Taurus, on my SN. Our composite Pluto is conjunct my Juno (trine his). Composite Juno-Mars-ASC very tight. The day I married him:My pr Juno 17.56 VirgoHis pr sun 17.56 VirgoAnd I don't have any more stories, other than this. ElysiaThanks, Faith!! You know, when I was writing about 'events' I was thinking about your progressed Juno on your wedding day! That is a pretty significant footprint. Maybe the *fatedness* of betrothal...?Wait, your ex-soulmate's sun was on your Juno? Faith^^ Sorry I keep repeating my same stories I figured, I must've told you before...but I have Gemini Mars and must say things twice.Aye, ex-soulmate is a 19 or 20 Virgo depending on his birth time, which I don't have. ElysiaOh not at all! Meesa likes your stories. I was just saying, that it was one of the things I was thinking about while making the thread...Also, another Juno myth was in the back of my mind. I'd read somewhere that Cappy Junos meet their S.O. only after their first Saturn return... Wonder how true that is. FaithThanks! That's interesting, Elysia. I've been suspecting that Juno-Saturn can delay marriage based on some charts I've seen (& their accompanying stories of course).Makes sense if Cap Juno functions the same way. I'll keep an eye out for that. Where is your Juno ~ how do you feel about it?ElysiaMy Juno is in Cap. I do need a 'grown-up', someone I can look up to. (*ahem* I have liked older men, maybe this is it).But as for marriage, I've always (and still am) of the view that I don't ever want to get married. :/ (Which is why I was so surprised about that feeling with that Libra guy - never even fleetingly thought of anyone as marriage material).Maybe when Saturn return hits, I'll feel differently? Faith You haven't had your Saturn Return? You're so young n' wise!Marriage can make a mess of things, that's for sure. I like that Cap Juno takes a somber view of it and isn't racing into anything.I have more data for you. Aren't you glad I come from a big family? Actually, I haven't even had my quarter-life crisis, if you know what I mean. And boy, am I glad you come from a large family. That's so much data! *filing away for future reference* You're a sweetheart to put that up. Usually, I know only one spouse's birth info, so i'm glad to see couples data. Dad`s Juno in Mum`s 4th house
his Juno in Libra, she has no personal planets in Libra though
his Juno opposes her Jupiter under one degree though
Mum`s Juno in Dad`s 3rd house but conjunct IC under one degree
her Juno in Sagittarius - he has got no personal planets in Sagittarius, except for his IC.
her Juno sextiles his Jupiter with exactly 1 degree
her Juno sextiles his Venus under 1 degree
interestingly their marriage chart had an exact Venus-Juno-conjunction in their HELIO chart (for some reason I had the marriage chart in heliocentric. by accident. lol) And that helio Venus-Juno exactly conjuncts my tropical Moon and my middle brother`s ASC, and falls onto their tropical composite DESC
Anyway let`s have a look at the tropical marriage chart
exact Juno-Ceres-conjunction on 9 Pisces, near to Jupiter (5- 6 degree orb, so not a valid conjunction, but still noteworthy)
square Neptune and trine Moon
At the time of their marriage
Tr Juno conjunct my Mum`s MC-NN-conjunction exact
no really major aspect to my Dad`s chart excetp being quinkunx his n Mars-SN-conjunction and her n Saturn.
Tr Pluto conjuncts my Dad`s n Juno exact (on the exact degree of my n MC)
Tr Satrn and Tr Moon square my Dad`s n Juno
Tr Sun trine my Dad`s n Juno
Tr Jupiter square my Mum`s n Juno
and now it gets creepy
Tr Juno (9°10 Pisces) conjuncts their composite Jupiter (9°11 Pisces) in 8th house (ONE minute orb!!!!)
Tr Juno trines composite Juno (8°47 Scorpio) in 4th house
Tr Juno trines composite Uranus, DESC-ruler, in 11th house, and also squares their composite BML in 11th house
Tr Moon in their composite 11th house trines thehir composite Juno as well.
as for Davison
Tr Juno in their 8th house trines DESC-ruler Uranus exact and also sextiles Mercury exact
Tr Jupiter in their 8th house widely trines Davison Juno in 4th house at 3 degrees applying
Tr Mars in their 12th house widely trines Davison Juno at 3 degrees separating.
Of course that means there MUST be a midpoint picture.
Tr Mars/Jupiter-mp 17°40 TaurusDavison Juno 17°57 Scorpio
Usually I do not really pay attention to transiting midpoints (maybe a mistake?) but in this case it of course is more than a fleeting transit as it is inscribed in their marriage chart. And Mars/Jupiter is THE marriage-midpoint and even more so the midpoint for having children together, procreation etc.
In this instance it is interesting to me as the Mars/Jupiter-mp in their marriage chart falls within one degree of my natal name asteroid, and my mom was already 3 months pregnant with me when they got married (and she emphasizes that she ALWAYS knew the name of her daughter, actually ever since she read that book, where the heroine had my name, when she was 14 years old, and well so I guess in a way my name was fated. )
my name actually not only bears relations to their Davison Juno but is square their Davison ASC as well (which means that Juno is square their Davison relationship-axis, so being on the near exact midpoint of their ASC/DESC-axis), even more so however their Davison DESC is conjunct my n Moon with just a degree
(btw their marriage chart`s ASC was conjunct their Davison ASC by only 4 degrees)
For him it was
Tr Juno on 18 Libra widely conjunct his n Pluto (but over 3 degrees, which is a bit widish for such a specific date, especially if it is the only aspect)
(interestingly enough though the marriage chart itself has a close Juno-Uranus-opposition along the 11th-5th house axis, and Juno quinkunx Chiron on the IC in Pisces - which interestingly enough is going to be hit by the solar ecclipse. Which also will probably affect his BML as it is on 18 or 19 Virgo I believe)
As for his natal Juno, well Tr Venus and Tr Mars are or were sextile his n Juno, which is nice, but somehow I expected something stronger to be honest.
------------------------------------------------
For my best friend and her husband (married for 12 years, 4 children so far, and I wouldn´t exclude the possibility of a 5th one )
In the marriage chart itself:
Juno in Capricorn in 3rd houseopposes Saturn in 9th but very widely at 5 degreestrines Jupiter in 11th but very widely at 4 degrees
However that Juno-Jupiter-trine, despite the orb is simply MINDBOGGLING
And that is why
Tr Jupiter conjunct her Sun in 4th exactTr Juno conjunct her DESC (2)
additionally...
Tr Juno square her Moon in 11th (2)Tr Juno square her Venus-Mars-Pluto in 5th (2)Tr Juno quinkunx her DESC-ruler Saturn in 3rd (2)
exact midpoints:
Tr Juno opposite her Moon/JunoTr Juno opposite her Jupiter/CeresTr Juno opposite her Moon/VenusTr Juno opposite her Moon/MarsTr Juno oposite her Moon/Pluto(you remember, I said FOUR children, right? )
The transiting Uranus-Node-sextile also was making a Yod with her n Juno on 9 Libra
For her husband it looks like this:
Tr Jupiter conjunct his Juno (1)in his 8th houseTr Juno conjuncts his Sun exact in his 1st houseTr Juno also widely conjuncts his ASC (4)
Tr Juno square his Jupiter (2) in his 3rd houseTr Juno square his Pluto (2) in his 8th house
midpoint picture:Tr Juno opposite his Jupiter/Pluto
Tr Venus square his n Juno exactTr Saturn sextile his n Juno exactTr Pluto square his n Juno exact
So it means their marriage chart has an exact Venus-Pluto-opposition and HIS Juno is on the midpoint (which reflects their natal synastry as of course his Pluto conjuncts her n Venus exact)
But seriously even the constellations I just named first is outstanding. That transiting Jupiter-Juno-trine falling in such a place that it triggers their synastric Sun(her)-Juno(his)-conjunction through Tr Jupiter, and their Sun-ASC(his)-DESC(her)-conjunction through Tr Juno.
In their Davison however Juno is conjunct Moon within 1,5 degrees in 11th house (in Virgo, falling onto my friend`s n IC)
sextile Uranus in 2nd house exacttrine Venus in 8th house (in Taurus how sweet)
square Mercury in 9th house
I guess they put their 5th house ruler URanus in 2nd house in opposition to the Taurus-Venus-Jupiter-conjunction in 8th house to good use by having as many children as possible.
and the Moon-Juno-conjunction in Virgo trine and sextile this opposition might have eased and smoothed things too (on its own I wouldn´t have thought a Venus-Uranus-opposition too promising, but they are a very stable couple, and considering she has Moon in 11th house and Uranus conjunct NN in 5th and he has Moon in Aquarius in 7th, along with Mercury in Aqua square Uranus I think, I guess their Uranianness had to come out somehow in the Davison. )
@ Ceri - Interesting, all of it.

Wow! Are their natal Junos sextile then? And I see his Libra Juno aspects her Venus, her Sag Juno aspects his Jupiter...very nice.

Jupiterian wedding for a Jupiterian daughter soon after.
quote:In this instance it is interesting to me as the Mars/Jupiter-mp in their marriage chart falls within one degree of my natal name asteroid,
LOL, that is very cool!

Of course I'm a bit jealous of your best friend and husband for reasons already given 150 times...but I see now tr Juno was conjunct my natal Neptune on my wedding day (1), so I had a dream wedding after all....

My Mars/Jupiter MP = husband's nodes (less than 1°)

quote:As for his natal Juno, well Tr Venus and Tr Mars are or were sextile his n Juno, which is nice, but somehow I expected something stronger to be honest.
Lukewarm aspects for a lukewarm marriage.
I guess I shouldn't say that but you know I was thinking it......
